Getting started
CuttersTech is a browser-based parametric studio for 3D-printable craft tools. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded to be processed — the geometry is built in your browser and previewed live in 3D as you change a setting.
Six studio modes share the same viewport and export pipeline:
- • Cutter — cookie, fondant, and polymer clay cutters from an image
- • Texture roller — embossing rollers from a pattern library or your own artwork
- • Font stamps — alphabet and symbol stamp sets
- • 3D objects — parametric vases, boxes, planters, lithophanes and more
- • Cutter sets — matched multi-piece sets from icons or letters
- • SVG editor — draw and correct artwork without leaving the studio
Import
- • SVG — vector outlines, the sharpest result
- • PNG — raster, transparency respected
- • JPG — raster, best for lithophane photos
Export

A raster import is traced to vector outlines before anything is extruded, so a clean silhouette on a plain background traces far better than a photo. An SVG skips tracing entirely, which is why it stays crisp at any size.
The unit switch in the studio header converts every dimension field, size readout and measurement in the viewport between millimetres and inches. It is a display preference — your design is not rescaled when you flip it.
Exported STL and 3MF files are always written in millimetres, because that is the unit every slicer assumes. Import at 1:1 and the size will be exactly what the studio showed.

Outer offset
Builds the wall outside your contour. Stacking layers of different width and height is what gives a cutter its profile:
- • a wide bottom layer so the cutter does not flex
- • a middle layer that carries the load
- • a thin top layer that does the actual cutting
Inner offset
Adds material inside the contour, for:
- • embossed detail pressed into the dough
- • internal ribs on a large or thin shape
- • a raised lip that releases the dough cleanly
Every layer has its own thickness and height, so a delicate shape can carry a thicker base without blunting the cutting edge.

A drawing usually contains more than one closed shape — an outline, the holes inside it, and any interior detail. The Polygons tab lists each one so you can treat them differently:
- Extrude on or off — leave decorative shapes out of the print
- Per-shape offset — a ring around one shape only
- Offset height — how tall that ring stands
- Shape height — how far the shape itself is extruded
Setting a shape's height to zero while keeping its offset height above zero leaves just the ring — a hollow outline that embosses without cutting through.

Instead of designing one cutter at a time, Cutter Sets build a matched family in a single pass: a whole alphabet, a numeral set, or a themed collection picked from the built-in icon library.

Cutter Sets are part of the Pro plan.

Three separate things, and they solve different problems.
- Earring holes — a hole cut at the same moment as the outline, at a diameter and inset you set. Punching by hand afterwards is what makes two earrings hang at different angles.
- Drill holes — any number of holes placed where you want them, for jump rings, dangles, cords or a hanging point.
- Connectors — small bridges between parts of the cutter. A letter with a floating counter, or a design with an island in the middle, needs them or the island is not attached to anything.
Connectors leave a small break in the cut line, which is normally invisible once the piece is lifted, and far better than a shape that falls apart in the cutter.
Texture rollers
A texture roller presses a repeating pattern into clay, dough or fondant as you roll it. The maker builds one to your diameter and length, with the pattern wrapped so it meets itself seamlessly — roll as far as you like and the seam never shows.
Two ways to make one
- • The pattern library — over forty patterns defined as mathematics rather than pictures, so the edges stay sharp at any size and every one is adjustable
- • Your own artwork — an SVG, PNG or JPG wrapped around the cylinder, with per-colour emboss depth and direction

The library holds 82 patterns, grouped into nine categories:
None of them is a fixed picture. Each exposes motif size in millimetres, how many rows wrap the roller, line weight, edge sharpness, emboss depth, profile and twist — so the same pattern can read as a fine linen or a bold carved relief.
You can also build a pattern from scratch out of icons or letters, choosing how they are arranged — grid, staggered, diagonal or scattered — with a size range so no two repeats look identical.
Baking

Clay and ceramics
- • texture polymer clay sheets for earrings
- • pattern ceramic slabs before forming
- • press texture into soap and candle moulds
The 82 library patterns are the starting point, not the limit. A pattern can be composed from motifs of your own:
- • icons from the built-in gallery, which works offline
- • a search across the Iconify library for anything the gallery does not have
- • letters, words or symbols set in any font from the catalogue
Then choose how they sit on the barrel — a grid, a brick offset, a diagonal or a scatter — and how they turn: all upright, in quarter turns, at any angle, or flowing with the roll.
A size range keeps a scattered layout from looking mechanical, and the same depth, sharpness and contrast controls apply as to a library pattern.
Font stamps
Font Stamps generate a printable stamp for every character you need, in the font you pick. Each stamp carries the character raised on the working face, and recessed on the top so you can tell which is which in the tray.

- • Two handle types — a round column to hold, or a flat pedestal that slides into a rail
- • A rail for composing words — pedestal stamps slide in side by side and stamp a whole word in one press
- • A storage tray — a grid box and lid sized to the set you generated
- • True to size — the font size you set is the printed character height

3D objects
Fifteen object families, each defined by its parameters rather than by a fixed model — set the dimensions, pick the details, and the geometry is rebuilt from scratch.
Included with the Pro plan.

Boxes are built around the lid mechanism you choose:
- • Slide — a lid that runs in a groove
- • Snap — a plug lid that clicks into the rim
- • Magnet — seats for press-fit magnets
- • Screw — a threaded neck and cap, generated as one watertight surface
- • Hinge — a snap-fit axle that clips into the base, so both halves print flat without supports
Lids can carry a pierced pattern or text inlaid flush for a second filament. Interior dividers are carved out of the cavity, so on a round or polygonal box they follow the wall instead of poking through it. Lids are oriented roof-down for printing, which is the way round that needs no supports.
A box too large for your bed can be exported as a ZIP of separate STLs and printed in pieces.

A lithophane is a photograph carved as thickness. Bright parts of the image become thin panel, dark parts become thick. Held up to a window or a light panel, the photo appears.
- • panel size and the thin and thick limits are set in millimetres
- • contrast lifts a flat photo; smoothing removes sensor noise and JPEG artefacts
- • levels are set automatically from the image before anything is carved
- • a border wall keeps the panel rigid and gives it a crisp edge
Print in white or a light natural filament, on its edge, with a fine layer height — the layer lines are what limit the detail you get back.

A worry stone is a smooth palm-sized object with a dished thumb rest. The studio generates the whole family — stones, coasters and keytags — from the same controls:
- • a built-in outline, or your own SVG used as the silhouette
- • an optional surface pattern across the face
- • a key-ring hole you can position freely
- • a logo or text inlaid into the underside, positioned, rotated and set to a depth that lands on a layer boundary for a clean filament change

Bins and baseplates sit on the standard 42 mm grid with the usual stacking lip, so they interoperate with the rest of the ecosystem.

- • dividers inside, and a scoop front for reaching small parts

The point of generating them rather than downloading them is that you can ask for the exact footprint a drawer needs, instead of picking the nearest of somebody else's sizes.
Vases begin from twenty base profiles with a preset catalogue on top of them, and the surface is a separate layer: flutes, twist, ripples, lobes, faceting or a pierced wall.
Planters are tapered, cylindrical, rounded or bowl-shaped, with drainage holes through the floor and a saucer sized to catch what comes through.
About water
A printed vase is watertight in geometry, not in practice — water finds its way between layer lines eventually. Drop a glass or plastic liner inside for cut flowers, or use it dry. For planters that is not a problem: the drainage holes are meant to leak.
Both types place their mounting hole in the geometry rather than leaving it to a drill afterwards, which is the difference between a pair that matches and a pair that nearly matches.
- • jewelry: six outlines, a pierced or raised pattern, and a jump-ring hole with its own diameter and inset
- • mirroring gives the opposite hand without redrawing anything
- • ornaments: six outlines with the hanging loop moulded into the shape
Around 2 mm thick is the practical floor for something handled daily; thinner looks better and snaps more easily.
The plate is sized to the text rather than the other way round: type what it should say, choose a font and a text height, and the width follows.

- • mounts: free-standing, plant stake, cake topper, hanging hole or wall screw
For two colours, set the text to two-colour and download 3MF. The letters come through as their own object, so the second filament is assigned in the slicer instead of by pausing the print and swapping spools by hand.
Two different ways of arriving at an object. The Pro 3D objects are fifteen types you configure from scratch — a box, a vase, a lithophane. The Ultra library is a catalogue of 72 things with sensible starting numbers for a specific job: a spice rack, a drill bit gauge, a shop-vac adapter, a cable comb.
Underneath, the 72 entries drive eight parametric shapes — bin, hook, stand, slot rack, clip, tube holder, adapter ring and gauge plate — which is why every object in the library adjusts as thoroughly as every other one.
The categories are storage, kitchen, workshop, desk, garden, bath, garage, craft, cable and tech, and home. Ultra includes everything in Pro. See the library overview.
SVG editor
Not every drawing arrives ready to cut. The editor lets you fix one, or draw from nothing, with the 3D preview updating beside the canvas as you work.

- • Type a dimension while drawing to place it exactly rather than by eye
- • Text as outlines, so what you type extrudes as geometry rather than disappearing on export
- • A free icon library you can drop in and reshape
- • Undo and redo across everything, including snapped moves

The editor is not only for correcting an imported file. Draw the outline there and pass it to the cutter directly, with the 3D preview updating beside the canvas as you go.
It is also where a traced raster image gets rescued. Tracing a photograph produces far more anchor points than a cutter needs, plus fragments from noise and shadow — deleting the strays and smoothing the curve is usually faster than re-tracing with different settings.
Text is converted to outlines, so a font you have on your machine extrudes as geometry rather than vanishing when the file leaves your browser.
Printing & files
A model can look right in the preview and still fail in a slicer. Every model is checked as it is generated, and the badge in the viewport reports what it found:
- • Watertight — no gaps for a slicer to skin over or drop
- • Manifold — no edge shared by more than two faces
- • Wall thickness — nothing thinner than a nozzle can lay down
- • Size — a warning when the model will not fit a common bed
Click the badge for the detail, including which part of a multi-part model raised the finding.

Materials
- PETG — tougher and easier to clean; the usual choice for repeated food contact
- PLA — prints easily, but the layer lines hold residue and it softens in a dishwasher
- ABS / ASA — heat resistant, needs an enclosure and ventilation
No 3D print is truly non-porous. Wash by hand, use it for cutting rather than storage, and treat a printed cutter as a tool that touches food briefly rather than a container.
Where a model splits sensibly, the studio does the splitting for you and offers a ZIP with one STL per part. Print the pieces separately and assemble them afterwards.
Vases and bird feeders are split along seams chosen to print without supports; boxes split into base, lid and any separate hardware.
STL stores one anonymous mesh. It opens anywhere, which is why it is still the default, but it forgets that your box had a lid and that the lid was meant to be a different colour.
3MF keeps the parts separate and named. On a multi-material printer that means assigning a filament per part instead of splitting the model by hand.
Every modern slicer reads 3MF. Pick STL if you are sending the file somewhere you do not control, and 3MF for anything with more than one part.
Selling a printed design normally means printing it, photographing it, and writing the listing. The camera button in the viewport does that part for you: it photographs the model you are looking at and downloads a ZIP with everything a marketplace listing asks for.
Six studio renders

Two sheets and the copy
- • a dimensioned drawing in millimetres and inches
- • a spec sheet with volume, filament weight and part count
- • a text file of listing copy with the measurements filled in
It works in every studio mode — a cutter, a roller, a stamp set or a vase — and the measurements come from the geometry itself, so they match the file you downloaded.

Brief contact with dough or fondant is the normal use and is widely considered fine. The things worth knowing are about cleaning rather than about the plastic.
- • hand wash in warm water, dry immediately, do not leave it soaking
- • no dishwasher — the heat will warp PLA long before anything else goes wrong
- • keep food cutters separate from ones used for polymer clay, resin or paint
- • print with a nozzle you have not used for exotic or filled filaments
Layer lines are microscopic grooves and cannot be scrubbed the way a smooth surface can, which is why a printed cutter is a short-contact tool rather than something to store food in. A food-safe coating helps if you want one that lasts.
PETG handles hot water better than PLA if the cutter will be washed often.
Account & privacy
You can upload, adjust, preview and take your first download without registering. An account exists for the things that outlast a browser tab.
- • designs saved to your gallery keep every parameter, not just the exported mesh
- • reopening one puts you back where you left off, with everything still adjustable
- • publishing puts a design in Explore, where others can open and remix it
- • a remix opens as a new design of your own, so the original is untouched
If you cancel a subscription the designs stay in your gallery — only the paid modes lock.
The whole pipeline — tracing a raster image, building the offsets, generating the mesh, writing the STL — runs in your browser. Nothing about designing requires the file to leave your machine.
A file reaches the server only when you ask it to: saving a design to your gallery stores it with the design so it can be reopened, and publishing to Explore makes the render public. Neither happens on its own.
That is also why the studio works with no account and no network once it has loaded.

Personal use — every plan
Print and use what you design on any plan. Individually purchased designs come with the same personal licence.
Selling printed items — Pro and above
Pro includes a commercial licence to print and sell the physical items you generate. No royalties and no per-item reporting.
Sharing the files — never
Redistributing, reselling or sharing the digital STL and 3MF files is not permitted on any plan.
Card payments are handled by Stripe, so card details never touch this site. PayPal is available alongside it.

Invoices, receipts and card changes are in the Stripe billing portal — open Account and choose Manage billing.
Moving between plans takes effect immediately and the difference is prorated against what you have already paid, so an upgrade partway through a period is not charged twice. If something goes wrong with a payment, write to cutterstech@gmail.com.
Open Account and choose Cancel subscription, or Manage billing to use the Stripe portal, where you can also update your card and download invoices.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — access continues until that date, and you are not charged again.
After that, the paid modes lock but your designs stay in your gallery, and files you have already downloaded remain yours under the licence that applied when you downloaded them. The cutter studio stays free to use, and you can resubscribe at any time.
Nothing changes. Earlier Maker Pro and Transfer Pro subscriptions were moved onto the Plus tier at the price you already pay, and you keep everything you had access to.
